OpsConsole Mobile

Rebuilding an existing app carries a specific risk: matching every legacy screen's functionality while migrating to a completely different framework, without any backend downtime or feature regressions the existing user base would notice. OpsConsole Mobile is a Flutter rebuild of the OpsConsole companion app, replacing a legacy hybrid app with a faster, native-feeling experience under a refreshed brand.

What I Built

• Full UI rebrand implemented natively in Flutter
• Feature-parity migration — every legacy screen mapped and rebuilt
• Performance improvements — smoother navigation and faster load times than the hybrid predecessor
• Zero-change API integration — connected to the existing CodeIgniter backend without requiring backend modifications

Key Decisions

• Rebuilt natively in Flutter rather than incrementally patching the legacy hybrid app, since the performance gap between hybrid and native was the primary reason for the rebuild in the first place
• Connected to the existing CodeIgniter backend without requiring backend changes, scoping the project to the frontend risk (framework migration) rather than compounding it with simultaneous backend changes
• Mapped every legacy screen before starting implementation, treating feature-parity tracking as a checklist rather than trusting memory across a full rebuild

Outcome / Impact

Delivered a modernized mobile experience with noticeably better performance than the legacy hybrid app, completed with zero backend downtime during the migration.
